CAMPRODON/FONT DEL FERRO I DE LLANDRIUS

55 min. - 3,7 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
This walk is a very leisurely one, it is short and on the flat.
This walk shows you the Font del Ferro (The Iron Spring) path, previously known as "Lover´s Lane", the cemetery and the irrigation channel of the old textile factory. This is a stroll for summer days, especially in the morning when the vegetation is still covered in dew.
Today the Font de Llandrius path takes you above the recently finished football field, and arrives at the new Can Pascal housing estate.

CAMPRODON/FONT DE SANT PATLLARI, BOIX i VERN

1 h. 10 min. - 5,1 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
Springs are one of the riches of Camprodon. There are dozens of them, of all types and designs, dotted throughout the borough. This walk is probably the best one for visiting four important springs: the Saint Patllari spring, the Font del Boix( Box Wood spring), the Vern spring(Alder spring) and the Llandrius spring. The path also goes through the golf course, up to the Creueta, which is very beautiful and has magnificent views. This is the natural entrance to Camprodon from the Garrotxa area. Then, after the Vern spring, the path winds through a wide leafed oak wood to the Llandrius spring.
For part of the way, this path follows the PR 186 (short path) and PR 187 (short path) tracks which are marked yellow and white.

2 h. 43 min. - 11,35 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
This itinerary goes right round the mountain of Sant Antoni, and up to the little known Turuluru gully.
The eastern part of the circular walk has lovely views of the Alt (Upper) Garrotxa. After the Sivilla pass, the footpath comes back into the Ripollès area in the direction of Sant Pau de Seguries. The paths going past the Remei Sanctuary and behind the colònia Estabanell (The Estabanell factory worker´s estate), complete the tour of the Sant Antoni mountain.

BEGET - ROCABRUNA

2 h. 39 min. - 8,2 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Medium
One can go from Beget to Rocabruna by road and also by the GR11 to Molí de Sorolla and to Rocabruna via the PR 187. One can also do the walk by going up to the Malrem pass, a route much used by bandits. Although the path is steep at the beginning, the route is not hard to do, possibly because of the beauty of the path at the start. The path is paved and goes up through woods and, with lots of views of Beget. Once you have reached the top, you come to an little shrine in a big oak tree, just as you cross the Can França forestry track, which goes to the foot of the Comane-gra. Once you have crossed the track, the footpath goes over an interesting passage to enter the Bocabartella valley. Without losing height, we now arrive at the Malrem pass, a border crossing with La Menera. Instead of crossing the border, the route follows the ridge and goes back through the Bocabartella valley, over a little pass and to Rocabruna. If you want to return, you can take the PR 187 to El Moli d´en Sorolla and then the GRUto Beget. This is a walk in the Alta Garrotxa which will certainly impress you. It is perfect for spring, autumn, and winter when there is no tramuntana (north) wind blowing.

CAMPRODON/PUJADA DE SANT ANTONI

1h. 43 min. - 6,6 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
The walk up to Sant Antoni is one of the classic Camprodon excursions. People walk up there for the village festival in June and hold an aplec, a kind of big picnic. Members of the Association of Friends of Sant Antoni, who have restored the chapel, come up here. People come up to have lunches, suppers people come up on bikes, they run up. The views are some of the best in the valley, and possibly the best vantagepoint for surveying the valley itself. The walk goes up through woods with lovely shady spots. The descent via the road is very gentle.

VILALLONGA - ABELLA - LA ROCA

1 h. 48 min. - 6,13 Km, Vilallonga de Ter Town: Vilallonga de Ter Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
This circular route takes you to two villages in the borough of Villalonga. First, Abella, where you should visit the Romanesque church, then La Roca, which is well worth a good visit.
The route is very easy, and pretty. The way back from La Roca is particularly beautiful, and ends up at a spring (La Font Blanca).

VILALLONGA – LA ROCA – LLANARS

2 h. 35 min. - 9,65 Km, Vilallonga de Ter Town: Vilallonga de Ter Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
This circular route is an excellent one for getting to know the surroundings of Llanars and Vilallonga. If you add on the route to Setcases by the PR 188 and the one from Tregurà to Setcases you will have a perfect overview of the whole of the populated part of the Valley of Camprodon. Furthermore, these routes are very beautiful and full of biological interest, with require very little effort on the walker´s part.

LLANARS – CAMPRODON

2 h. 53 min. - 11,28 Km, Llanars Town: Llanars Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
This is not the usual walk from Llanars to Camprodon. The walk goes up the Costinyola mountain to the Oratori de Freixenet(Freix-enet Shrine), down to Camprodon and back to Llanars.
It affords good views of the valleys of the Ter around Llanars and Camprodon, the Feitús valley, the Sierra de Fembra Morta (dead woman) which comes down from the Puig Sistra and, further in the distance, the Costabona

CAMPRODON - LLANARS

1 h. 3 min. - 4,24 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
The walk from Camprodon to Llanars has become the most popular walk in the valley. At all times of the year you can see people walking from one village to the other along the side of the main road. You could say that this is a therapeutic walk and it is only two kilometres there and two back. The route also catches the morning sun, a fact much appreciated by the inhabitants of Camprodon in the winter. We suggest, however, an alternative walk to that of going along the edge of the main road. We suggest walking along the right bank of the river to Llanars, and discovering the Collell meadows, then coming back via La Rossa. This route is about the same in length as the road walk, and you can be sure that it is much prettier and more interesting in terms of seeing the surroundings of Llanars and Camprodon. It is not any more strenuous. We invite you to try it.

VOLTA A SERRA CAVALLERA

5 h. 6 min. - 22,1 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
The Serra Cavallera is a sierra that lies parallel to the main Pyrenean ridge. We can see this fold right the way along the Pyrenees and it is the sierra nearest to the Serra del Cadi. The Serra Cavallera is made up of the Serra, the Puig Estela and el Taga summits, and ends up at Ribes. It begins at the Rocasses gorge, which separates it from Sant Antoni, and it ends at the River Freser which also separates it from Sant Antoni de Ribes. The walk around the Serra Cavallera is, in fact, only around half of the Serra, leaving from Camprodon and ending at the Coll del Pal (pass). You will be able to have a good view of the sierra and its two sides, the North and the South. It is a good day´s walk, and you should be able to see interesting flora and fauna, such as the arnica flower and places where chamois live.

MOLLÓ - ESPINAVELL - FRONTERA - FAVERT - MOLLÓ

4 h. 32 min. - 18,6 Km, Molló Town: Molló Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : Medium
This route is all within the municipal boundaries of Molló, and takes you to all of the inhabited parts. Almost the whole walk is on the flat from Molló to Espinabell, and can easily be done at any time of the year. The path takes you to the ridge at the Pregon pass, where there are magnificent views of Costabona, Les Esquerdes de Rojà and the Canigó Massif. The footpath follows the ridgeline to Prat pass, and from here it is worthwhile walking up to the Torre del Mir (tower). Going down to Fabert, you climb again to change sides of the ridge, and arrive at Can Canilla and Can Pairó (farmhouses). From here you descend to El Riberal and then up again to Molló. This route is recommended for its wonderful views, and for visiting the hamlets of Molló. It can be done all year, except perhaps when there is a strong tramuntana northerly wind blowing.

SETCASES - TREGURÀ

3 h. 41 min. - 12,3 Km, Setcases Town: Setcases Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Low
This circular route can be walked there and back, or just from Setcases to Catllar, or from Tregura to Catllar. One part of the itinerary is easier than the other. The lower footpath is flatter than the upper one. Both paths are beautiful and take you to spots well worth visiting. The itinerary is a little known one. The route goes through Catllar, which has one of the earliest Romanesque churches in the valley.
The fact that it is a high walk in terms of metres, and the fact that it is north facing, mean that winter is not the best season for this route.

CAMPRODON – COLL D’ARES

4 h. 45 min. - 19,2 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : Medium
This circular PR goes through the Alta Garrotxa and the Ripollès regions, and bends round to take in a small part of the Vallespir valley. Many of these paths were used in the past by smugglers. Most of the way is not exposed to the worst of the weather, so ideal for winter, and fine for summer walks too. There are good views of the Alta Garrotxa, with the Bestracà and the Comanegra dominating the valley below your feet, and an excellent view of the Canigó Massif when you reach the border ridge.

CAMPRODON - BEGET

4 h. - 16,3 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : Medium
The path from Camprodon to Beget forms part of the PR 186, a circular route between Camprodon, Oix, Beget and Camprodon. Although the description of this itinerary is part of another walk, it is worth taking out this part from Camprodon to Beget.
This is a footpath with lots of history, because it goes through Bolôs and Salarça, and because it is a good way to go to eat at Beget, especially on a winter´s day when it is so cold on the Ripollès plateau.
The Romanesque hermitage of Sant Valenti de Salarça is especially beautiful.

MOLLÒ – BEGET

2 h. 54 min. - 12,7 Km, Molló Town: Molló Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: All publics Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : Medium
This is always a pleasant walk to do. First of all, because it is all downhill. Secondly, because it shows you the climatic changes in the flora and fauna from the Ripollès to the Alt Garrotxa regions, from 1185 mts to 510 mts. Thirdly because the walk goes through areas of great beauty, such as the Can Costa bridge, the Costa Hollow, the Querol cave, the Boixeda Pass, the Molid´en Sorolla, and the part of the footpath after crossing the main road to Beget. A delight at any time of the year.

OIX – CAMPRODON

7 h. 11 min. - 29,3 Km., Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
This route complements the Camprodon to Oix itinerary. It also connects the GR 1 with the GR 11 at Hormoier, orat Beget, and with Camprodon.
The route takes you through impressive places in the Alta Garrotxa region, such as the engorjat de Grau d´Escales, (Grau d´Escales Gorge), the Vall d´Hormoler (The Hormoier Valley), the entrance to Les Valls, or the sorgències d´Escaladuix), Escaladuix Heights. Then, after Beget the path goes past the Salarça hermitage, the Bolós church and the Creueta to enter the Ripollès high plateau. This is a magnificent itinerary that can be walked at any time in the year, but especially in winter, from November to March.

CAMPRODON - OIX

5 h. 51 min. - 22,51 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : Medium
Walking to Oix from Camprodon may seem a rather difficult feat, but having traced out the route, we can safely say that it is not at all difficult, perhaps a little long, but with the advantage of being downhill all the way. This is a ridge walk practically all the way, which means that there are wonderful views of the Canigó Massif, the Bolós Valley, Coll d´Ares, el Comanegra. The route gives you a good view of the Alta Garrotxa. As the itinerary is rather exposed to the wind, it can be done at any time of the year without getting too hot.

SETCASES - MOLLÓ

3 h. 20 min. - 13,25 Km, Molló Town: Molló Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
This route shows you in detail all the valleys that make up the Valley of Camprodon. In the municipal area of Setcases there is the source of the River Ter and the source of the River Riutort in the municipal area of Molló. The two valleys are perpendicular to the main Pyrenean range and are oriented from North to South.
So, together with the route from Molló to Beget, part of the GR 11, you can see a great variety of flora and fauna, due to the variety of climate and terrain. The route goes from the authentic Pyrenees at Setcases, with a wet climate and granite terrain, to the Alta Garrotxa of Beget with a warm climate and chalk soil. From the point of view of landscape, there are wide views over the Garrotxa, the Canigó, the Rojà crevices, the Costabona, the Gra de Fajol and Pastuira.
This is a route to satisfy all of your senses.

MOLLÓ - ROCABRUNA - MOLLÓ

5 h. 46 min. - 26 Km, Molló Town: Molló Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : Medium
This itinerary takes you to the source of the Beget stream, and going round the Montfalgars Peak. The route goes round the highest part of the Garrotxa, just on the limit of the Ripollès and the Vallespir on the Montfagars Mountain, at 1610 metres. This is a rather exposed walk, but it has good views of the Garrotxa and of the Canigó Massif.

ROCABRUNA - EL CORAL - LA MANERA - ROCABRUNA

4 h. 49 min. - 20,33 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
This itinerary goes on both sides of the border, giving you views of the North and South faces of the Eastern Pyrenean ridge. You see two countries, and two regions, the Vallespir and the Garrotxa. The route goes past the Rocabruna mines, over the Vernadell Pass, with views of the Canigó, past La Coral, a hermitage that is well worth visiting, past La Menera, over the Malrem Pass and comes back to Rocabruna. The changes in the flora respond to the differences between the North and the South faces of the mountain: beech woods and chestnut trees on the northern slopes and oak trees on the southern slopes. This is an itinerary that can be done all year round, but especially in winter, spring and autumn except on days when the northerly "tramuntana" wind is blowing . The itinerary follows different routes, the Catalan PR 187, with white and yellow markings until the Vernadell Pass; the path which descends to La Coral, with yellow markings, is part of the Camino de Santiago; the path from La Coral to La Menera, with blue and red markings; the path from La Menera to the Malrem Pass with blue and red markings, and the path from the Malrem Pass to Rocabruna with green and white markings.

CAMPRODON - RIBES

6 h. 45 min. - 22,5 Km, Camprodon Town: Camprodon Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
The route from Camprodon to Ribes is usually done by road, via Ripoll. It is also done with 4x4 cars, on bikes and on foot via the Collada Verda, which is a contested pass between the two valleys. It can also be done via both sides of the Serra Cavallera, passing the Coll del Pal, the Collada Verda and by Pardines. Finally, it can be walked via the Serra Cavallera ridge, puig Estela and el Taga. This is a long itinerary, with a lot of difference in height, it is windy and exposed. However, it is the best route in terms of views. You can see all the villages of the Ripollès, the Alta Garrotxa, the Canigó Mountain and the Ull de Ter cirque. It is also of interest because of its flora, wild thyme, mushrooms in spring and autumn, arnica, orchids, aconites and because of the group of wild goats.

TRAVESSA NÚRIA, CLÀSSICA

3 h. 46 min. - 13,26 Km, Setcases Town: Setcases Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
The Nuria traverse is the classic of all classics. It is the perfect traverse. The normal route is via the Marram Pass, the Freser valley, the pics de la Vaca ridge (carena dels pics de la Vaca), Nou Creus and Nuria. The view from the pics de la Vaca over Caranga is magnificent, as is that of Nuria when you get to Nou Creus. There are also other routes to Nuria, which we will describe in other leaflets.
The Nuria traverse can be done at any time of the year, although the level of difficulty is completely different in winter.

VOLTA A GRA DE FAJOL

4 h. 30 min. - 12 Km, Setcases Town: Setcases Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
The Gra de Fajol is, with the Pic de I´lnfern, a characteristic mountain of our region. The itinerary does a complete loop around the two Gras de Fajol, the little and the big one. It is a route where you should be able to see wild goat, especially on the slopes of the Coma d´Orri.
It gives you a view of the whole of the valley of the Upper Ter and goes through the woods of the estret de Morens (Morens Gorge) and of the Coma d´Orri.

TRAVESSA NÚRIA, CAMÍ DELS ENGINYERS

4 h. 30 min. - 14,35 Km, Setcases Town: Setcases Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Summer Difficulty : High
The walk to Nuria has become the most popular walk in the Eastern Pyrenees. The most frequently followed route is that of the main ridge, but there are also two other very interesting routes that are worth walking. One of these is the Engineers´ Path, the other is the path over the Torreneules Pass. Both paths leave from the Coma de Vaca. The Coma de Vaca is a wonderful plain, at the foot of the Tres pics and the Little Torreneules (moun-tain),at the confluence of the Freser rivers and from where the Pic de la Vaca is born. As from 1999 there is a manned mountain hut. The Engineers´ Path is a path that was made because of a hydroelectric power station project that planned to close off the Coma de Vaca with a dam and so create a reservoir. It is a path which goes round the Roques de Tot lo Mon, with wild sections, and with a magnificent view over the Valley of Ribes. This is a route not to be missed.

CARANÇÀ - BESSIBERS

6 h. 44 min. - 23,34 Km, Setcases Town: Setcases Category: Routes on foot - Hiking and mountain Public: Adult Season: Autumn,Spring,Winter,Summer Difficulty : High
Caranga is a mythical valley. It is mythical because of its beauty, and because it is a wild and rough valley. This valley can been seen from the classic Nuria Traverse footpath via Tirapits, and most walkers are attracted by the valley. We promise that the valley does not deceive anyone, because of its wonderful lakes, the rock of which the valley is made up, the flora and fauna and the waterfalls when the water from the river goes from one lake to another. It is a perfect example of the PYRENEAN valley in capital letters. The itinerary described here takes you down the Caranga valley and back through the Bessibers valley, which is much shorter. The latter valley is of interest because of its flora and the beautiful waterfalls in the river. The route is difficult because of its length, difference in altitude, and because of a small passage when coming down from a pass, but it is worth doing if you want to taste the power of our Pyrenean mountains. It may be better to do the route over two days. It is up to you. It is a magnificent route in summer and even more so in winter in the snow.
